For those of you who don’t know me, I’m not much of a baker. You want me to bring dessert, I’ll swing by Safeway and pick up some decadent piece of heaven. Well, for some odd reason I’ve been having the urge to make Red Velvet Cupcakes. I had most of the ingredients. I just had to run out and buy some buttermilk (don’t they make it in small containers? I guess buttermilk pancakes are in order this weekend) and voila… I’m ready to bake!
Right now they’re cooling off so they’re not iced, but this is such a blog-worthy moment for me I thought I’d better get it up right away!
Here they are waiting for some cream cheese icing. I’ll post again when they’re iced. That is, if they’re picture-worthy.

When Chris and I bought our house 16 years ago, one thing that I really wanted was my own set of decorations from my Grandma. I got my wish and Grandma gave me a whole box of beautiful hand made ornaments! The kids decorated the tree this year so there are a few clumps of decorations lumped here and there, but I absolutely love it. I used to tease my Mom about keeping the little styrofoam balls with the googly eyes glued on that my brother and I made as kids. Now I laugh as I look at the popsicle stick reindeer with the googly eyes glued on and it’s one of my favourite pieces on the tree. In fact, just about every piece on the tree has a story. They’re all either hand crafted or given as a gift from someone I love.
I hope you enjoy our tree as much as we do!
Last Saturday I got out to the Farmhouse with the Adams family. It was so cold and frosty, but SO beautiful. I think I can handle a December like this!

This is my third time photographing Tara & Brian. We’ve done Old Hollywood and Rock Star portraits. This time there was a new addition to the photos – their 14 month old son! This session was all about having fun on the playground. Isn’t he just a little doll?

Yvonne & Paul were married last Saturday at St. Matthew’s RC Parish in Surrey, followed by a reception at Occasions by the Pond at Surrey City Hall. The day started out pouring buckets of rain, but cleared up in time for us to shoot almost all of the formal photos outside. The photo gods were definitely watching out for us that day!
Paul & Yvonne hired a belly dancer for entertainment at the wedding and she was a huge hit – especially with their adorable daughter who followed her around trying to imitate her moves. My favourite picture of the day is probably the one of Gabby digging into the cake when she thought nobody was looking. I didn’t ask her to do that for the photo… I swear!!
